An algorithm devised by researchers at the Indiana University Bloomington has indicated that Karl Marx is the most influential scholar in western academia. Snapping at his heels is the psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud, followed by the physicist Edward Witten and philosopher Jacques Derrida.
