Apple Media Advisory

Apple CEO Tim Cook today sent the following email to all Apple employees:

Team,

I have some very sad news to share with all of you. Steve passed away earlier today.

Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing
human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.

We are planning a celebration of Steve’s extraordinary life for Apple employees that will take place soon. If you would like to share your thoughts, memories and condolences in the interim, you can simply email rememberingsteve@apple.com.

No words can adequately express our sadness at Steve’s death or our gratitude for the opportunity to work with him. We will honor his memory by dedicating ourselves to continuing the work he loved so much.

　皆さんに伝えなければならない悲しいお知らせがあります。Steveが今日亡くなりました。

　Appleは、先見性と創造性に溢れた才能の持ち主を1人失いました。世界は、素晴らしい人間を1人失いました。Steveを知り、ともに働いてきたわたしたちは、親愛なる友人、そして、力を与えてくれる師を失いました。Steveは、彼のみが築き上げることができた会社を残していきましたが、彼の精神は永遠にAppleの礎となるでしょう。

　Steveのたぐいまれな生涯を追悼する式典をApple従業員のために計画しており、早々に執り行う予定です。それまでの間、皆さんの気持ち、思い出、哀悼の意を伝えたい場合、rememberingsteve@apple.comにメールしてください。

　Steveの死、そして、Steveとともに働くことができた機会に対する感謝の気持ちを十分に言い表せる言葉はありません。Steveが愛した仕事に打ち込み続けることで、彼のことをしのびたいと思います。
